How it works & what to watch for
- The maths: fuel cost = (distance ÷ mileage) × price per litre or kg. Round trip doubles the distance.
- State matters more than the day: Indian fuel prices barely move day-to-day, but differ a lot between states because of state VAT — so pick the right state, or type your exact pump price.
- Real mileage is lower than the brochure: ARAI-claimed figures are lab numbers; on a real highway with AC and luggage, expect 15–25% less.
- Not included: tolls (FASTag), parking, and the fuel penalty from AC, hills and traffic. Add a 10–15% buffer for a safe budget.
